Create a new layer. Create a path circle (this will be the grey ring). Fill the circle with a nice grey. I picked #adadad. Make another one slightly smaller one (this will be the white covering). Fill this with white. Create a really small circle the is offset to the left for a left earbud or to the right for a right earbud. Make this the same grey color as before. Type a L or an R for this little grey dot. Verdana is the font you want.
Make the black dots. Make it so its slightly smaller than the dot for the side. Round it around the top of the circle. Duplicate it to 6. The 5 from the left will be a measure to know where to put the rod.
To make the rod use the rectangle path tool. Make the rectangle so its its about 1.5 of the circle's diameter and from the 4th to the left of the dots to the middle of the 6th. To make it round it at the top, add a point and the use the single select cursor and drag it up to make it round and adjust to make it rounder. Make it so the rod at the bottom grey. So far you should have something like this.
You should have done each element on a different layer. Now put the rod elements in its on folder and the the speaker bud in its own folder. Duplicate each folder and then hid the originals. By doing this you can make changes later.
Merge the items in the duplicated folder but not together. Now apply the following effects to each layer. You'll have to adjust the settings so it matches the size of your earbuds. Do another bevel for the wire to. You're done. To earbud
To rod
You now have iPod Earbuds.
